Commissary Ridge, Grand Tetons, March 2006
To get from the yurt to the turns, ya gotta traverse...
And traverse...
Past the convienently located snow lodgings...
And then it's just ski your brains out...
Watch out for the skin path ruffians, they're
rather territorial... and mean looking.
Star child scopes her next line. She took
an 8 foot dive off the overhung cornice into the powder below.
Ahh, the mark of an artist, or two or three. Four counting Star Child.
"The best run of the day" is an intricate
balance of many separate components comprised of 1)
powder quality. 2) sun angle. 3) length of line. 4) directness
of fall line and 5) the presence of friends.
This run had it all.
The whole famn Damily: Itchy and Scratchy
catch a ride from their high speed parentals, Helmüt und T-lish.
AKA, the pug patrol.
Some pictures just don't need captions....
"What choo looking at?"
Itchy and scratchy have thousands upon thousands of subtle facial expressions
that help illustrate the variety of their complex emotional states.
Unfortunately, to a human, those expressions all pretty much
just look like this. Back at
the mothership.
Star Child looks pissed here because
she was hoping to cop a few more runs.
I wonder how may yurt group photos have been taken in this very spot?
Hundreds?
Thousands?
Ten Thousands?
I wonder how many have pugs in them??????
Thank you Tetons, 2006!
