Looking for snow in Great Basin National Park
May 27th to the 28th, 2007

Jeff Davis Peak and Wheeler Peak. The 2000ft line off Jeff Davis
was white, but narrow, braided and impossibly studded with large rocks. At
least that's what I convinced myself, and I'm sticking to it.

Here's the line I drove 4 hours one way to ski, the northwest
couloir of Jeff Davis Peak. It's slightly westerly aspect was enough
to wipe out the finishing apron.

Headed back to Salt Lake, across the Sevier Salt Flats. 3 incredible
mountain ranges in 4 days. A Utah roadtrip classic. |
